Will my ESS turn out to be an aggressive dog, or is this normal puppy behaviour?
Post Body

Sorry if these seem like stupid questions. My former dog was an adult rescue that came trained so Iā€™m not sure what is considered ā€œnormalā€ in a puppy. This is my first ESS. Sheā€™s 8 weeks old and and well-behaved on two occasions only - when she is in her crate and when weā€™re at puppy class. Outside her crate in the home, she is going through her landshark biting stage terribly. She snarls a lot when she plays and lunges at you if youā€™re sitting on the ground, especially for the face.

Will she outgrow these behaviours or am I stuck with a potentially aggressive dog? I know I know - 8 weeks old is still very early. But my husband doesnā€™t remember his lab being this way. I try to redirect her biting with toys and walk away from her when she gets too mouthy and snarls. I donā€™t want to give up. I want a dog who will be my best friend. But I feel like Iā€™m scolding her more than I am praising her and thatā€™s not right. I want a positive relationship with her. Any advice or insight is greatly appreciated. Please be gentle though, Iā€™m doing my best with her.
