Sorry if these seem like stupid questions. My former dog was an adult rescue that came trained so Iām not sure what is considered ānormalā in a puppy. This is my first ESS. Sheās 8 weeks old and and well-behaved on two occasions only - when she is in her crate and when weāre at puppy class. Outside her crate in the home, she is going through her landshark biting stage terribly. She snarls a lot when she plays and lunges at you if youāre sitting on the ground, especially for the face.
Will she outgrow these behaviours or am I stuck with a potentially aggressive dog? I know I know - 8 weeks old is still very early. But my husband doesnāt remember his lab being this way. I try to redirect her biting with toys and walk away from her when she gets too mouthy and snarls. I donāt want to give up. I want a dog who will be my best friend. But I feel like Iām scolding her more than I am praising her and thatās not right. I want a positive relationship with her. Any advice or insight is greatly appreciated. Please be gentle though, Iām doing my best with her.
