Spotify won't connect (Android App)

Having issues with the Android App. It has this weird green square app icon instead of the normal green circle inside a white square. After starting it then loads a connection loading screen then fails. I kinda managed to deal with it by reinstalling the app but I had to redownload some of my playlists again overnight and then the morning after same thing.
