Friend Activity Changed

Originally, the right bar on Spotify told me the music two of my friends that I was following. Sometimes they had good music, although one of them went inactive. Now, the right bar has changed to 'See what your friends are playing' which prompts me to connect to Facebook and a list of people I don't really care about.
Is there any way to change it back?
