Spitfire Albion’s now selling at 50% discount!! It’s the lowest I have seen it go. In one way it’s quite infuriating considering this is lower than the Black Friday sales so for those who got it then, it’s frustrating!
That being said, if you have Albion Colossus, is getting Albion One going to be an overlap?

I don’t think it’s a good sign. Like most businesses in the tech space; where the product and transaction are completely online, I’m sure they saw a huge boom during Covid with people staying at home and having government money helping them out. During that time, we saw a huge growth in the amateur composer market, and to capitalize on all that growth, we saw spitfire and other large companies slash their prices to grab as many of those new customers as possible. You all probably remember the days when spitfire chamber strings was called BML, and for the full package you’d pay over $3k for it. SF stuff was and typically still is, professional grade stuff made for professionals. But, covid, a temporary increase in wages, Apple silicon making entry level Macs easier for amateurs to purchase and access incredible plugins leading to a whole bunch of new customers… really changed the orchestration business landscape. These companies saw huge profits, invested a ton of money in newer and bigger, and I think…now they’re kinda screwed. For the longest time, it was just 8dio constantly showing their weakness with ridiculous massive sales, pretty much screaming their lack of quality - and SF only did minor sales during Black Friday.
Now SF is constantly running big sales, and repackaging a lot synth presets. They’re starting to look like 8dio. And I bet quality is going to suffer as a result. I think they’re in trouble.
