A friend on mine said some words that really rocked my perception of negative feelings. She said:
"You have to feel it to heal it."
I have been using these powerful words to sit in meditation with feelings of sadness, feelings of regret and feelings of loss.
The other day, it hit me. That I escape loneliness. Here now I am on my phone, forming words with my mind to distract myself from the fact that I am alone.
It's a feeling so engrained into us that we have a word for it: loneliness.
If I am lonely, that means I have energy inside me that I am not processing.
Hence, I am changing how I look at being alone. Rather than avoiding it, I can embrace it as an opportunity to heal something deep and ancient within me
Anyway I felt compelled to share.
