What’s the truth about psychedelics?

Some psychedelic drugs are grown from the earth and I want to know why. I believe there is a reason for everything and there must be a reason why a plant can kill your ego. I don’t know exactly if your ego dies but I seen people got rebirth from psychedelics. Mike Tyson took DMT and now he’s a whole different person who admitted that his ego carried him for over 40 years. Psychedelics feel like a short cut in away and shows us distractions. Does anybody know any insight about this? 🙏🏽
