Can I, a white european person, wear hamsa?

My apologies if it's a weird question. I went shopping looking for something with the evil eye (was seeing it a lot last vacation in Greece, read a lot about it), they didn't have it but a hamsa bracelet caught my eye and I just felt like I gotta buy it. That was back when I didn't know what this sign means (you know, the evil eye is more "mainstream" hahah) and when I showed this bracelet to my middle eastern partner he said "oh, it's hamsa" so I researched it a bit online and turns out it has, correct me if I'm wrong, a similar meaning to the evil eye but is popular in North Africa and Middle East. In this case, is it okay if I wear it if I'm a white person? I don't wanna bother my partner with this question, but he wouldn't know much anyway, he's pretty much an atheist
