New SI Joint/Sciatic Nerve 4 months Post Op

38F 10/21/22 I had an L5/S1 Fusion and Disk Replacement. I had a pretty bad experience overall but my fusion seemed to be successful at first. I attached the link to the story of my fusion if interested.

Aside from surgical discomfort and stiffness, I was feeling so good for the first month. My feet, hips, upper back and shoulders weren’t burning. I had a lot of pressure and heaviness near my tailbone and really bad spasms. I was in the least amount of pain I had been in 10 years. I was amazed. Around December, it seemed as though my sciatic nerve was being pinched. Intermittently and mildly annoying. I wasn’t super surprised, my hips are in a complete different position. I had a Sciatic Nerve Ablation around 8 years ago, so I hadn’t dealt with constant Sciatica in a very long time. NOW, it’s constant. Every single move, every step, anytime I shift my weight, it pinches…..it feels like someone is digging their thumb in my butt cheek. When I do finally sit or lay down in the evening my butt and thighs are one big knot. It’s starting to radiate down my thigh and in my groin. I am concerned. I don’t do well in the cold Winter Temps, but this is….different. My lower back feels hard all the way across, like a shield…..it’s my muscles. I have been going to Aqua Therapy for quite some time before and after my surgery. It is usually so therapeutic for me. My past 4 sessions we have spent simply loosening the stiffness and tension I am carrying in my hips, thighs and butt. My shoulders and upper back burrrrrn again. I stand all day long because it is more comfortable than sitting or lying down. I have an MRI scheduled for Saturday and I literally cannot wait. I want answers.
