I've recently switched over to Atarka Red from Pure Mono with the intent of possibly running one or the other at the GP this weekend here in Toronto.
So presently my main-deck is virtually identical to Dang's pro tour winning list, but my sideboard isn't. Based on advice from some other local players, I'm presently at the following;
4x Roast 4x Searing Blood 2x Scouring Sands 3x Eidolon of the Great Revel 2x Destructive Revelry
While Searing Blood is a strong card, I feel like I'm obviously overdoing it here. From my mirror matches I've played with Mono Red it does seem like more of a grind match than a tempo race, and thus while Sands is great against token makers I feel the Bolt to the face isn't worth Blood, since landing a Hall of Triumph and grinding out with 2/2 tokens seems a better path to success in mirror matches, but other players feel its too slow. I'm just not sure though what I should take out here and bring in; should I stick with this, Dang's sideboard or is there anything else I should consider instead? The same applies to running MonoRed as well, as I'm unsure what way to build the 75 there. (can list what I was running as my maindeck before hand, if anyone is interested)
I'm also reading up on sideboarding advice from both Dang's Protour report and the previous discussion thread, but if there's any advice not covered there for the sideboarding process that'd be appreciated too.
tl;dr at a loss as to what exactly to run in RDW/Atarka Red sideboard(s). suggestions and reasons welcomed.
