Can sorters not pull from O2/H2 generators?

Hey all, are conveyor sorters able to pull from O2/H2 generators?

I'm trying to set up a system where you place your empty bottles in a small cargo container, they get pulled into the generator and refilled, and then get pulled into another small cargo container for full bottles. However, it doesn't seem to work. The conveyor sorters refuse to pull anything out of the generator.

I've tried whitelisting them, turning drain all on, turning the grid off and on, and nothing seems to make them pull.

Any ideas or suggestions? Or does this not work that way?
