MES survival defenses?

So we had a bit of experience and decided we wanted to do modded, slapped all kinds of MES mods in and now we are kind of at a standstill. We haven’t put much effort into defenses yet (we turned shields off just saying) but I wanted some opinions of base defenses and small fighters that actually work well against MES
