My music taste has always been considered weird due to how the world is skewed towards pop/rap. And don’t get me wrong occasionally I find songs of those types I love. But I’ve always liked the more somber realist dark type music. I never knew it had an actual genre or name until YESTERDAY, when Spotify suggested a playlist titled “Southern Gothic” and out of curiosity I opened it.
Damn near every song on the list was a song I knew and liked ☠️. Glad to finally learn where I fit in. But of course I had to google it and learn more and turns out most of my tv/movie favorites also fall into the SG category as well as my desired fashion sense… I felt kinda dumb to learn so late in life the subculture I favor actually is a thing and not just me being peculiar 😅
