I cant be the only one that has dealt with this speed trap of a town. I was in the process of sllowing down when he flashed his lights on. Then I went through a yellow light, resulting in him also giving me a ticket for "running a red light" which is an outright lie. I'm so pissed. This town makes a roadtrip to the beach no fun! Complaints all over the internet about it, this feels illegal. Has anyone gone to court about this did the judge lower the ticket?
Edit: Firstly...(since people are bullying me on the assumption i frequent this route), IVE NEVER DROVE TO THE BEACH BEFORE. Apparently that needs to be explicitly said...because why would I knowingly speed into a trap?
I drive a short bus and I CAN NOT break as fast as the speed limits reduce. On top of that...my bus goes max 55mph, so he is trying to say I was pedaling the gas to the floor while going through the town...which is a lie.
Also. I've found multiple articles about a scheme that was run out of Mcbee I the early 2000s forcing people to sign over their cars or pay on the spot in cash, in order to drop the tickets. The former chief went to jail over it, im sure the department is still rotten. Making wages and income off tickets isn't ethical.
