What’s the easiest way to buy a tv license?

Want to buy a tv online. Need a tv license in my name (specifically it has to be the same name as the credit card). What’s the most hassle free way to get one ( a new one, not a renewal as I never had one before).

I tried the tv license site but while it talks about being able to pay online I can’t actually find the option, and I’m not sure if online applies to new ones or just renewals anyway. Will a retail store let me sign up for a license even if I’m not buying a tv from them? Rather avoid the post office if I can, PO times are inconvenient for me.
