Soundproofing bedroom wall that borders bathroom

Hello friends,
I recently moved into a new apartment/house/I guess it’s more like a condo/college student housing. One of my bedroom walls borders the bathroom. I hear my roommate exploding his rectum at 7 am every single morning. I’ve asked him to turn the fan on but I still hear it. These walls have nothing in them.
Please help me.
TLDR: I sleep next to the bathroom, my roommate has IBS. Help.
