I am aware that this question has been asked several times, and I’ve read many of the posts and comments. However, I’m hoping someone can advise of which one may be better suited based in the below.
Note: due to my age, family, work etc. I don’t have the time to commit to both. It will be one or the other for now.
I have platinum in DeS, DS1,2,3, BB, Nioh 2 (around 80% on Sekiro), and have 1000’s of hours over the years into both FS and ‘similar’ Soulslike’s.
Everything points to LoTF for me at this moment. From the grimy and dark fantasy design, caracter customisation, overall look and the homage to the Dark Souls aesthetic. However, I see a lot of comments on how the performance can be suboptimal (I’ll be playing on PS5). This is a concern for me, as FromSoft hits right every time due to the fluidity and highly polished gameplay. If LoTF cannot achieve this, at least well if not perfectly, it may lead me to lean towards Lies of P.
For other souls veterans; what is your preference and what would you recommend based on the above?
Another note: I absolutely love DS2, even though the gank squads, adaptability, slow start can be frustrating. So if this is prevalent in either, it’s not a deal breaker by any means.
Cheers.
