Why is this sub so small when the genre is so popular?
Post Body

Is there a bigger sub with a similar purpose or something? Doesnโ€™t make sense to me.

It's still a relatively tiny genre outside of the tentpole games.

Take this list: https://glitchwave.com/games/genre/soulslike/

Granted, there's at least a couple rather zealous users on site gatekeeping the genre (half necessary with the amount of liberal use the label gets it gets, though I do think some valid examples get omitted), but it's not like there are hundreds of games missing.

Also the most common form of indie Soul-like, 2D sudescrolling ones, often gets tagged as Metroidvania regardless of whether it's a good fit or not, so a lot of the discussion of those gets diverted there.
