1000XM3 headphones sound going on and out

Had my headset for almost 6 months and the sound while connected to my PC goes in and out really fast. It's like someone is muting and unmuting a couple times a second.
Not sure if this is a known issue but would love to know if I should talk to sony directly about it or if there is a chic I can try.
