sony wh-ch720 are terrible for talking on the phone in a crowded ish place

i was so disappointed that it couldn't properly deliver my voice when i talk in a slightly crowded place. when i did the same with my regular gaming headphone w the mic attachment (also cheaper) it worked way better
anyone feeling the same or know how to tweak settings so it works better?
