Sonos Ray as Optical In for Projector
Post Body

I am setting up a projector and am looking for feedback on the best way to set up the sound in a room that is not wired for it at all. It turns out harder to get sound from the projector to a soundbar than I thought it would be.

I currently own a gen 1 beam - I was looking at the different Sonos products and saw that the Ray has an optical in. Would it be possible to have the optical in go from my projector to the Ray and then group the ray and the beam and still get decent sound? I realize the Ray isn't a rear surround but in this case I think it would just be utilized as the cheapest optical in port.

The other option I was thinking about is to get the amp and build in some rear surrounds with the amp and use the HDMI in on that and have that transmit to the beam but I'm also not sure if that would work.
