Do your Sonos speakers work seamlessly with Airplay?

I have a sonos ARC and a Sonos ERA 300. The ARC is hooked into ethernet.

I keep having issues with playing music from my phone with Airplay that I do not have when playing Sonos Radio. Things like the audio pausing randomly and not restarting, or iOS deciding that I can play to one or the other speaker rather than both. I am also going to be annoyed as I get more speakers to have to select all speakers through airplay.

Does this happen to anyone else? Is there a good way around this? Happy to get like a single airplay bluetooth player if I can get it to play to all the speakers in my house with less that can go wrong.
