Canadian cities for month-long stays
Post Body

I’m coming out of seasonal and pandemic depression and looking forward to getting back to traveling. I am looking for suggestions and thoughts on cities that might be good for month-long stays.

Me: 43F, dual citizen(Canada and USA) permanent WFH.

I love exploring walkable cities or with good public transport. Into art, museums, architecture, food. My travel style is slow - would rather stay in one place and immersing myself. I love doing things like going to farmers markets, visiting bookstores, taking in a concert, hanging in cafes, short hikes and beach time.

As a woman of colour traveling solo, I also prefer cities since I’ve had some bad experiences visiting smaller towns and rural areas alone. Cities feel safer for me. (I’ve lived in Ottawa, Victoria, Rome, NYC, Hawaii.)

Budget for accommodation would be $2500 cdn/month (can go up to $3500 but would rather not)

Here’s what I have so far Halifax - May to June - (AirBnb booked for $1700) Montreal - July - (Airbnb booked for $1600)

Quebec City - August?

I’m thinking of Ottawa, Calgary and Victoria next. Maybe Vancouver but the accommodation prices are crazy. Any others I should look into? (Regina, Winnipeg, Edmonton?)

Edited because formatting got messed up.
