Being decently well-traveled (solo travel mostly to 23 countries) for the age of 22 I remember after my first trip I told myself I wanted to visit every country in the world.

Considering that was a "dream" at 18 I became a bit more realistic with myself and hope to travel internationally at least every two years.

First of all - I don't really care for American Thanksgiving mainly because I don't like turkey or the fishes that are served that day. It's like eating food at a hospital cafeteria. Also, my parents, as well as myself, appreciate being together on Christmas. While they worry about me traveling as well as miss me for a week - this is the only week of the year that I have time off school and can take a trip as well as know the weather will be up to my par (I like chilly autumn weather).

Thanksgiving 2017 - Paris, France: Visited for a second time and stayed with a French friend first half of the week in the suburbs and then the other half in the city center. Great time and met an Indonesian Instagram influencer on CouchSurfing who was traveling through Europe.

Thanksgiving 2019 - Tokyo, Japan: Second-time visiting as well. Stayed in a hostel in Shinjuku. Met people at the bars in Shinjuku as well as went on the date with a French guy who lived in Tokyo for years after witnessing him get in a bar fight (he won). It was a very nice time seeing Tokyo in a transition season since I had gotten to witness the cherry blossoms. I still talk to that French guy and plan to go to Hawaii with him.

Thanksgiving 2021 - Istanbul, Turkey: This will be my first time visiting Istanbul and I am staying in Cihangir which is the more cosmopolitan part of Istanbul in an Airbnb. I am very excited and can't wait!
