HELP - NZETA not here, and I land in NZ in 4 hours
Post Body

Asking for a friend, not me.

She didn’t know that US citizens needed an ETA to enter NZ until I told her yesterday. When I applied for one, I got confirmation like 30 minutes later, but it’s been 24 hours and she still hasn’t been confirmed.

I know it’s a new requirement (last October). I also know that the immigration site says to allow 72 hours.

Anyone have experience here? What should she expect? An overnight stay at the airport while she waits? Instant deportation? Is there anyone she can call or talk to to get it rushed?

Because US citizens didn’t need a visa of any kind before, I’m hopeful she can speak with someone at the airport - but am I being delusional?
