I’ve heard winter is the best but it’s too cold to stay outside and stare at the sky. Fall and spring are the best compromises. So I picked this weekend and all next week! Should be a new moon, so the sky should be as dark as it can get.
I’m flying into Fairbanks and have a car booked for 9 days. I haven’t scheduled anything past that. Where I drive and stay depends entirely on weather and aurora forecasts. I’ll be bringing a couple discs to throw at the local disc golf courses and a bag of clothes, and that’s it.
I’m psyched! I’ll probably head to Denali and Chena hot springs, but open to ideas outside of that! I’m more of a nature guy than a city guy. Anyone have any recommendations for stuff I can’t miss while I’m there?
