Travel Insurance/Dumb Mistake -What to do?

I booked my tickets and didn't get travel insurance. However, my dad is feeling ill (seriously ill) and I may need to go back to the US before my leaving date arrives. Where should I get it the insurance? How much will it cost (I'm seeing prices of $300)?
Also, I booked my tickets from August 25th - November 24th. I get into Germany on Aug 26th and leave on November. When I initially added it up I counted 90 days...however, after recounting I got 91. What should I do?
