I finally went solo to Europe for 5 weeks!
Post Body

There are so many things I want to share ie hostels name, transportation etc, but I’m trying to keep everything short and simple.

I have always been traveling solo to Asia, and I finally ticked off my bucket list of Solo trip to Europe. There were times I feel cranky and lonely despite I stayed in hostels, but after some reflection, as much as I enjoyed my own company, I have figured that I will try to improve my social skills in the near future. My initial plans was to visit 7 countries, but I only did 6 for 5 weeks.

I’ll share the timeline below * Paris (2 days, stayed with a host from BeWelcome) - visited louvre museum, pantheon, eiffel tower by midnight. I was pretty much love these places. Throughout my stay, I was treated well by the local worker despite not speaking any French. I was just kinda shocked knowing the Happy Hours means slightly different (provably in most Europe). My bad for not asking them beforehand as I was assuming its a buy 1 free 1. If anyone (ladies) keen on visiting the carrette cafe just for their famous chocolate drinks, just DON’T. Unless you are going with friends. The taste is not to my likings, but its good for 3 times servings, just quite pricey. * Amsterdam (4 days, stayed in airbnb hostel) - the weather was unpredictable! For a moment it was sunny, then raining windy. I’m kinda glad I stayed here longer as turned out I was seriously gotten sick due to changes in weather. I was lucky enough to get a ticket for van gogh museum through ticket swap. I also visited rijksmuseum garden & the usual tourist spots. * Nice Monaco (2 days, stayed in airbnb) - I am in love with the vibrant city Nice. I managed to visit most of the places I wanna visit in just few hours, which then lead me to spontaneously visit Monaco for the next few hours. But I only visited the casino and walk around for a short term time as my internet does not working there. I don’t want to risk being lost as I can’t even open up my map on the phone.
* Rome (3 days, stayed in hostel) - my least favorite city. It gives me gothic vibes, vandalism everywhere and dirty streets. Visited trevi fountain, pantheon from outside , San’t Ignazio Church & Colosseum from outside. I had a tiramisu from Two Sizes (recommendation from TripAdvisor), and it was disappointing. The only thing that makes up everything is their coffee. * Florence (3 days, stayed in hostel) - my favorite city in Italy despite it was raining throughout my stay. If you have the chance to visit ZaZa restaurant just go! Their beef steaks are worth to try and only cost €18. It was definitely the best meals I ever had throughout my trip. The only downside, without any reservation, you have to wait for almost an hour to get a table. Another must try cafe is Vivoli Gelataria for their affogato. I personally love it. Most of the tourist attractions are pretty walkable and can be done in a day. * Milan (4 days, stayed with a host from BeWelcome) - the city was just alright. If you are coffee lover, its worth to visit Napoli Cafe and try out their La Crema (not in the menu, its basically sugar espresso). I also slot in a day to visit Bellagio & Varenna. These cities are amazing, I had one of the best gelato & hot chocolate drinks here. * Munich (3 days, stayed in hostel) - I wish I stay here longer as I did not get to see much. One thing that made me shocked is the Germans loves to eat out, so most restaurants are likely to be full during dinner time till 1030pm. I visited the Nymphenburg Palace, and I was kinda disappointed. I came a bit late around 11, and there were lots of group tours. As the hallway is pretty small, you wont really get to enjoy yourself as it is packed with other people. I did try the Bavarian food & the beers. Must say its my favorite now. I was lucky enough to have local friend, so I managed to visit the surfing area, Michael Jackson’s memorial place as well as the English Garden. I will definitely visit Munich again. * Prague (10 days, stayed in hostel) - the plan was to stay for 3 days and visit Budapest & Vienna, but I have decided to stay longer as I received the news of my dad’ passing (whom I never met for almost 2 decades, the plan was to reach out to him after the trip, guess it was too late and I was quite devastated and in guilt). I was kinda lucky to meet a local here, and was kind enough allowing me to join them for recreational activities just to distract my mind. The bonus point for prague is their hot chocolate! I came almost everyday for it. The prague beer was just so-so for me. Will visit Prague again as I now have few friends in Prague.

Will I visit Europe again - definitely!
