I've played Scythe digital version on steam.
Interesting game. The artstyle, the aesthetics and these retro-mechs are beautiful, also the cards as well. - Altough the music was off-putting for me because I imagined a much more gritty tone for soundtrack...that was disappointing.
What I've been seeing from Expeditions, it clicks for me in the visual aspect.
I also like that there is exploration and not a fully premade map, makes it more interesting. - While I usually love premade tables.
The digital Scythe didn't fully click for me. Maybe it was too much at once. Battle, engine building, area control...yet feels like it was the thing that should made me love it more.
I LOVE Dune: Imperium and Uprising - with and without expansions - which has tons of stuff to do and merges deckbuilding, resource management, battles...etc together super perfectly.
So about Scythe, it's like I think I would like it for merging good stuff in a good way, yet I never have the mood to play it.
Everytime I wanna play it I have that "nah" in my mind just play something else.
Expeditions on the other hand seems like the opposite. Nice modular map, exploration resource management "deckbuilding"...well, more like handbuilding which is used for upgrades and stuff.
The art is beautiful, when I see it I'm like "I have to try this"
But the price tag is offputting a bit. Games like Storm Raider which I didn't play but looks like a similar game has a much lower price tag where I live.
I get it, "ITS SCYTHE SEQUEL BOIIS!!!" but feels like I would spend that money on something else.
Yet there is this "I shoult get it" feeling in my head :D
I feel like I'm not convinced I would enjoy it.
But maybe Expeditions is "the Scythe I would enjoy".

Also expension is good for this one?

This was my main takeaway. The upkeep felt less like I was running a bot and more like I was wrapping up my turn. Really well implemented.
