Having played many solo games in the past (final girl, quests over coffee, things of the like) I was wanting to try something that was complex enough to keep me engaged while also small enough to where I didn’t need to spend 30 minutes setting and breaking down.
Insert my research into palm sized games and button shy style games, in which two caught my eye: Palm Island and Dragons of Etchinstone. After getting the pnp files from pnp arcade and spending an hour constructing the game I finally got my first game of Palm Island in.
Immediately I was blown away by the puzzle solving nature of the game. Trying to balance between upgrading and holding resources for future use really made me think and I loved it. By the end of the game, while I did not get any feats, I ended the game at a very respectable 24 points.
Looking forward to playing more rounds to try and get the feats. I already have Dragons of Etchinstone ready to print and assemble
