Balcony PV in the US (Maine)

Post Body

A sunny day to all of you and thank you for reading. There is a lot of commotion about "Balcony PV" over here in Germany. The basic Idea is that cheap panels are mounted to the balcony of an apartment, an inverter is attached, and the power is fed directly into an AC Plug, slowing down the grid counter. Surplus electricity is fed into the grid for free. Now I visit Maine a lot in summer and I was wondering if the idea is known there and if there are any specifics to a typical US electricity setup or regulations that would speak against this. Maybe you have additional resources, so I can research local regulations...Thanks you in advance and have a wonderful day.
