Hi! I posted on here a while ago about Payment for Placements (P4P), the nationwide movement organizing for paid field placements, and I have some exciting updates!
First, the Michigan statehouse introduced bills this month which would provide stipends for a large chunk of social work students! And a similar bill was introduced in California, where the San Diego State University team got an op-ed published in the city paper! U of M's school of social work also created a field fund to start creating stipends through alumni donations. Links to all these below.
Bottom line, the time is now to push for paid field placements! We have 14 active chapters now and want to help more get off the ground. Please message me if you want to start a chapter at your school, and please attend our next nationwide strategy call on Sunday, 5/15 at 5:00 PM EST!
