Starting in social work and wondering about self harm scars, hide or don't worry?

I've been going through it, not gonna lie. But I've been working on getting better and I still think that I can be a productive member of society even with mental health struggles. Anyway, I have self harm scars up my left forearm (and on legs, but those I'm not concerned about). I'm wondering if it is necessary for me to wear long sleeves when I start working as a professional. Right now, I work with individuals with disabilities and I don't worry about my scars showing and no one has said anything. I do get a little self conscious about it sometimes though. But would it be unprofessional if the scars are visible while at work as a case manager or something similar? Thanks in advance for any words of wisdom/opinions.
