In a touching moment last night at the Democratic National Convention, VP nominee Tim Walz's son Gus who is diagnosed with nonverbal learning disorder, ADHD, and anxiety, stood up with tears, proudly proclaiming love for his dad. The moment personally gave me goosebumps.

Conservative talking head Ann Coulter tweeted a picture of his son standing up with tears and wrote "talk about weird"

NASW, responded with

"Conservative media pundit Ann Coulter reportedly deleted this offensive social media post about Gus Walz, the son of vice presidential nominee Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota. Gus Walz lives with a learning disorder. NASW CEO Anthony Estreet, who is attending the DNC convention along with #SocialWorkers from around the country said, "At a time when Gus should be excited and proud of his Dad, she uses this moment to ridicule him. NASW stands firmly in our beliefs of inclusivity and diversity for all families. People who are impacted by learning disabilities deserve to experience joy and happiness."

This is not the post for me to talk about what I wish NASW did better, but it's a post for me to say, I am very proud to be a Social Worker and I am very happy to see NASW making this statement.

Iā€™m going to make this political, I personally have been really fired up by this convention!
