Hi all. I’ve posted here a couple times about the jobs I’ve had, and I finally made the decision that maybe structure (aka full time position) is what I need. I’m a client care coordinator now for a pilot nyc program, which basically means no one knows really how to run things yet. Quickly I realized this is not for me. I am worried about my clinical hours as working in homeless services means I barely spend any time with my clients as they often aren’t in. I’ve been there about a month, and most of the day (if not all day) I’m kind of just waiting for my clients to need me. I figured, cool if I have all this downtime I can just work on my website or just things for my own business for a couple hours during each day. I cant, as there’s some issue with the building not actually having wifi.
I’m heavily contemplating going back to field work, as I loved doing Mobile crisis on contract with local hospitals. I was doing 3x12s and I loved my team. The job I’m currently at was advertised as being mobile, but I am in my office doing nothing all day mon-Friday. The staff is also treating me as if I weren’t there, which also makes it difficult to speak to anyone for the 8 hours a day I’m there.
I guess I’m just asking if it’s normal to feel sort of shitty about a job this soon in, and get some feedback from folks that had a couple of part time/per diem positions at a time. Thanks I’m advance!
