Hi there, I just wanted to know from all you Cali social workers your input on the working conditions, especially if you have experience working in other states. I've done mainly corrections and CPS for a few years and got capped 12 cases when I worked in Child Welfare in Michigan. So with that being said, i wanted to ask the following: Are there unions?, caseload size, overall office culture (supportive or hostile), raises etc.
I have my BSW and aware I'll need to live with either roomates or a shabby studio aptmt starting off..lol
Edit: I just want to thank everyone who took the time and commented on this post. I was not expecting to receive this many comments, so your input is very much appreciated. I hope everyone had a wonderful day !
Most jobs here require an MSW but the pay is good in most places 👍🏼
