Hello, I find that I'm very uneasy when around other people, especially in large crowds. I always feel like an outsider observing as opposed to an active social participant.
I'm also a hardcore introvert which makes trying to adapt to various social settings difficult and only adds to the feelings of uneasiness and being an outsider. What bothers me is how so much of what governs our interactions is merely social convention and not a genuine interest in the other person. As I try to fit into social settings I find myself nearly incapable of trying to show sincere interest in others without appearing nosey? What is the line? What do expect of you ask them during an initial meeting? What is considered taking an interest vs being nosey? Any guidance is greatly appreciated.
