Do social media managers do video editing?

I am thinking about a career in social media. I wonder if you guys need to edit videos, add background music, photoshop, etc to create the content? If so, what tools do you guys need? Or does someone in another department handle all of that for you and you just need to post? What are the top needed skills for a social media manager besides the knowledge of social platforms? I am asking because I am thinking of investing in learning video editing to prepare for it. Thank you!!!

This made me laugh out loud. One guy I worked for, I was the only employee and did all the things you mentioned but even stuff like building NFT collections, crypto tokens, websites, shopify stores & product design, pricing etc. Even ended up having to sometimes spend 50% of my days on the phone to him trying to convince him his house wasn’t on fire and that he was in no fit state to drive (Drug induced psychosis I think). There’s a lot of interesting characters working in social media thats for sure.
