Anyone else feels like they just need more practice in social situations?

But the anxiety and fear is preventing us to learn?

Personally, I used to be quite sociable few years ago, in my own weird way, but most people liked it. I used to feel comfortable in most situations. Then depression hit me, I severed the ties, eventually lost contact with my friends for a few years. Until some months ago I wouldn't even communicate anonymously online. The thing is I really need people, I'm nowhere near introverted, but don't know how to show the best of myself without coming across as desperate or aloof.
