Hey guys,
after getting some inspiration by other posts I decided to have a closer look at the distances between Bundesliga stadiums and Döner Kebab shops.
In the following I present my findings of which club's fans have the nearest way to the next Döner, aswell as other interesting correlations.
Without further ado here are the statistics:
TEAM | DISTANCE in m | Positon in Table |
---|---|---|
SV Werder Bremen | 540 | 17 |
Union Berlin | 610 | 11 |
Bayer 04 Levekusen | 620 | 5 |
FC Augsburg | 796 | 14 |
RB Leipzig | 857 | 3 |
VfL Wolfsburg | 1140 | 7 |
Borussia Dortmund | 1160 | 2 |
Fortuna Düsseldorf | 1430 | 16 |
Hertha Berlin | 1440 | 13 |
Mainz 05 | 1470 | 15 |
TSG 1899 Hoffenheim | 1520 | 9 |
SC Paderborn | 1560 | 18 |
1. FC Köln | 1700 | 10 |
SC Freiburg | 1770 | 8 |
Eintracht Frankfurt | 1810 | 12 |
Schalke 04 | 1820 | 6 |
Bayern München | 2570 | 1 |
Borussia Mönchengladbach | 2720 | 4 |
So we got an average distance of 1418.5 meters from an Bundesliga Stadium to the nearest Döner Shop.
The average distance of the currently top 6 Teams is around 1625 meters.
Compared with the average distance of the bottom 3, 1177 meters, we can see that having a Döner shop in close proximity can and will actively hurt your teams performance on the pitch.
Also it seems like rivers magically attract döner shops, since stadiums that are close to rivers have an average distance of around 1058 meters to the next Kebab, while stadiums that are not close to rivers have a way longer average way of 1599 meters to the next Kebab.
Thanks for coming to my TedTalk.
