Chill Bar or Lounge in SoCal?

When I lived in AZ I used to frequent a place called Espresso Art. It was a Cafe/Bar/Hookah Lounge. I would go there to write (I do my best writing when I drink). When I moved here to SoCal, I looked around for a new writing spot with a bar but haven't had much luck. All I've found so far are clubs or dives.
Does anyone know of a chill place with a bar where one could get some writing done (preferably in the IE or LA areas)?
