I've considered going to an AA meeting to meet people who relate to my issue and will encourage me not to drink. That said, I have a lot of social anxiety... If I went to a few meetings, could I sit in quietly to feel it out without introducing myself until I meet some people I trust? Typing this out I see it's counterintuitive to look for a social group if I'm scared to introduce myself. I just get scared in social situations, especially when I'm sober
iβm almost a month sober and my psych suggested i go to meetings but iβm just so anxious that im not allowed to be there due to my own silly brain and also donβt know what to expect and yeah so these comments were really helpful for me to read π thanks to op and commenters
