Soap cracking & darker
Post Body

Hi group, Iā€™m new at soap making and looving it! It a learning curve and would like to have some feedback please.

I did my second batch in a rectangular mold and I noticed that the soap started cracking with darker areas. I did have any issues with my first batch but noted that I used individual soap mold. I believe my first mistake was to pour the lye at a high temperature with the oils. And from what a read the darker areas are from gel phase? Would the soap still be good or will continue cracking during the cure period? I appreciate the feedback, thanks!

Soap heats up after pouring so if you pour hot, it will crack. I Soap at 80Ā° to avoid this and I don't insulate them before I cut them.
