I've been playing SOA as much as the in game stamina and work will let me since it came out (which sounds like a lot longer than yesterday) and so far I'm really enjoying it. With that being said though there are a few things that irk me too.

Pros:

• The game plays in portrait mode which lets me walk my dog and neglect talking to him all without fumbling his leash. (/s)
• The battles are fast paced and engaging. Variety is the spice of life, or so they say. I've seen enough tabletop or turn-based mobile games to last me a life time, I enjoy a lot of them too but SOA fills the void left by Tales of the Rays.
• Science Fiction! Come on, it's not hard to gush over the sci fi genre.
• UP3 - Okay, so this isn't exclusive to SOA. Heck, it isn't even exclusive to Star Ocean. Star Trek has the Prime Directive and even though it seems to me a rule that's almost always drawn in the sand it's always interesting to consider the impact it could have on an underdeveloped planet. Out of the Dark by David Weber touched on this a bit in the start of his book but that's all we'll say about that piece of literature.

Cons

• Please, for the love of God, show me what the stats increased upon leveling up! It really, really bugs me when I'm grinding out levels as Fidel and I level up and see that - for example - my base health has increased (which I only know because the font is light green) and is now 3563 but I don't see what it once was or what it increased by. I know I'm being unreasonable but why would the devs think to show the increase with the level but not with the stat? All I'm looking for is this: Health (3463 100) = 3563
