If you get good enough at working its nuances, you can even return to a time before you left. The way Sylva has been working it, her timeline runs backwards to my own.

I met her when, shortly after my 18th birthday, Sylva found me and drew me here, and told me her purpose was to teach me how to harness my powers in preparation for my ultimate destiny, though she still won’t tell me what that is yet. She was at the end of her life, though she still looked young and beautiful.
