A cautionary tale that might help someone.
Post Body

Here’s my gorgeous little boy M’aiq.

For the last 8 weeks he has refused food.

Being usually a good eater, this has panicked me and his helper (I’m disabled and have a lady that helps get him out for cuddles and clean his tank) Here’s a list of the things we tried:

Checking humidity and temp of tank every day.

Scenting the prey with Hamster bedding

Smashing in the brains of prey

Warming it up a lot more.

Tong feeding in a more animated fashion

Bathing my poor little guy, in case he had a hard stool.

Guess what we didn’t think of? Checking if the prey had gone OFF. Which it had, but seeing as it didn’t smell bad, we thought it was ok. He ate fine once new food was purchased.

So, Reddit snek family - please check your food for any redness or wrinkles. Gone off food doesn’t always look or smell bad. It might just appear a bit iceburned or wrinkly.

Hope this helps someone out there.
