Need ID, wild snake, think he bit my dog

I assume he's just a garter snake (which is why I picked him up to get him away from my dog) and my dog was being an asshole, but he had blood on him and I think it's her's. I examined him and didn't see any wounds, she has some missing skin on her foot. Should I be worried?
