I have some family coming to town for the thanksgiving holiday, and they've decided that they'd like me to smoke a brisket for one of the non-holiday meals. Perfect excuse to smoke some meat, right? Typically I rub my brisket with mostly salt, black pepper, and a dash of garlic, maybe some paprika or whatever I feel like tossing in. Therein lies the rub: one of my Aunts is extremely sensitive to pepper. Not allergic, but let's say we don't want her to have any pepper.
Does anyone have any good brisket rubs that don't have pepper? What could work well in this scenario?
