I am brand new to the world of smoking and would love some recommendations on what smoker to buy.. My budget is ~7/800 with some flexibility. Some more details:

1. I have experience with grilling but not a lot - mostly propane but also some charcoal grilling on a Weber Kettle.

2. I don't expect I'll be cooking for large crowds. 2-3 people on a regular basis, maybe more if I am having people over but almost never more than 10 people.

3. I live in NYC and have a backyard but not a huge one so space is a bit of a premium. The smaller the better but this isn't a dealbreaker.

4. My preference would be for something that I can set and forget but also has the flexibility to tinker a bit if I feel like it.

5. I would prefer something that allows for more of a smoke flavor so I think Pellet grills are out but I am open to suggestions if you think there's good pellet smokers.
