I personally own a Masterbuilt Gravity Series. In the manual, it says we have two options for adding wood to our smokers; a) mix wood chunks into the hopper with the charcoal or b) throw chunks directly into the ash bucket.
The reason I ask is because Iโve done it both ways (and even a combination of the two) after a year of owning it. Some personal observations โ mesquite burns really hot, really fast. Itโs sketchy to put it in the hopper โ when adding wood to the ash bucket, the smoke appears dirtier / white (I havenโt noticed an effect on the taste).
Just curious to know how other gravity fed smokers are managing wood / smoke.
