Had my first grease fire on my Masterbuilt 1050. I cleaned out the grease trap and grease pan before I fired it up to burn out any residue. I usually do this after every smoke to clean up, only this time, I smoked two briskets and didn’t use a foil pan as a grease catch. I also didn’t realize grease had dripped into the manifold.
I fired it up to 700o when the grease caught fire. Leaving everything closed up didn’t put it out, so rather than risk letting it keep raging and burning up any electronics, I used a basic ABC (1A 10BC dry chemical?) fire extinguisher to put it out.
Any tips on how to go about cleaning it up? I’m pretty sure it’s still safe to smoke on right? Like nothing is permanently damaged?
Thanks for the advice.
